“Lonely Sounds”

“Lonely Sounds”
Copyright by Frank DeCenso, Jr.

[Vs1]
In a forest of forgotten hearts,
There stands a rugged tree;
It’s been through storms and strong high winds,
But still stands mightily;
Some branches have been broken off,
Yet all it’s leaves adhere;
It’s story’s one all need to know,
And someday all may hear.

CHORUS
Lonely sounds are hard to hear,
Some are never heard;
Broken hearts will shed some tears,
From hurts they have endured.
But sometimes on a quiet night,
In your own hometown;
If you’re quiet, you just might,
Hear some hearts’ lonely sounds.

[Vs2]
In an ocean of some broken dreams,
There lays a silent stone;
It’s been there since the seas were formed,
Yet lays there all alone;
It’s never moved from it’s deep place,
It will always remain still;
It’s lonely tale some hearts can hear,
And some hearts one day will.

CHORUS
Lonely sounds are hard to hear,
Some are never heard;
Broken hearts will shed some tears,
From hurts they have endured.
But sometimes on a quiet night,
In your own hometown;
If you’re quiet, you just might,
Hear some hearts’ lonely sounds.

[Bridge]
As nature sings a quiet tune,
Each and every night -
Some stare at the lonely moon,
Waiting for the light….

CHORUS
Lonely sounds are hard to hear,
Some are never heard;
Broken hearts will shed some tears,
From hurts they have endured.
But sometimes on a quiet night,
In your own hometown;
If you’re quiet, you just might,
Hear some hearts’ lonely sounds.
