When the candles burn out, and the music ends;

This will all be about, whether we’re just friends.

When the only light left, is the moonlit sky;

Will we feel our heart’s breath, or just say “good-bye?”

Night is made to find,

Secrets hidden there;

Even when desire hides,

In between two stares.

It’s at that time,

Two friends can find –

That they belong…

In a secret love song.

When the night slips past, and we’re here alone;

Will our hearts beat fast, harder than they’ve known?

Never thought that they would;
Left a million mem'ries wavin' -
Never thought that they could...
Daddy lost his job and pension,
Momma had two kids to raise;
As they traveled through the darkness,
Looked for more than yesterdays...

Dreams can shatter when there's thunder,
And the lightning follows fast;
Storms will break the weak in spirit,
If they hold on to the past...
Dreams can shatter when there's thunder  -
But that thunder may not last.

Daddy saw through that horizon,
Past failure's fallen signs;
He knew he'd find the answers,
To the questions still behind...
Momma held both kids tighter,
Daddy's smile put them at ease;
Felt that with each new tomorrow,
There'd be more than just old dreams.
