"Every Night" (Long Version)

“Every Night” (Long Version)

[Vs1]
Every city light is burning,
Casting smoke upon the wind;
Lonely faces slowly changing;
Putting on their midnight skin…
Lover’s hearts find true submission,
While the hustlers look for prey;
In this city of lost angels,
Just the end of another day.

CHORUS
Every night breathes full surrender,
Every night brings one more chance;
Every night begs a decision –
Run away or join the dance…
Every night feeds romance novels,
Every night needs one more prayer;
Every night breathes one tomorrow –
But no one wants to leave for there.

[Vs2]
Moonlight fights against the darkness,
As it pales from summer heat;
Nameless wanderers find trouble,
Boiling over these dark streets…
From the neon signs of pleasure,
To the church bells’ quiet sounds;
In this city's contradictions,
No real answers can be found.

CHORUS
Every night breathes full surrender,
Every night brings onemore chance;
Every night begs a decision –
Run away or join the dance…
Every night feeds romance novels,
Every night needs one more prayer;
Every night breathes one tomorrow –
But no one wants to leave for there.

OPTIONAL BRIDGE
There are no soft enchantments,
Every night drops strong and hard –
Once the twilight runs for cover,
Night breathes down the boulevard…

[Vs3]
With each hour pushing forward,
All the shadows fight for air;
‘Cause the daylight hates excuses,
From the people stranded there…
Morning grabs a new horizon,
Strains to push the night away;
Strangers turn to mist and vanish –
Just the start of another day.

CHORUS
Every night breathes full surrender,
Every night brings one more chance;
Every night begs a decision –
Run away or join the dance…
Every night feeds romance novels,
Every night needs one more prayer;
Every night breathes one tomorrow –
But no one wants to leave for there.

Remember that old stone house where our names are etched in wood?
A lonely rusty pickup truck still sits there like we would –
At night its bed would hold us while we counted falling stars;
These two rings remind us what we had there is still ours’.

CHORUS
The hourglass has broken,
Its sands have blown away;
Everything still left here,
Came from all our yesterdays…
Our future will be golden,
With a touch or two of gray –
And I promise that tomorrow's,
Bringing us more yesterdays.

I can’t forget your eyes were like the sparkling summer sea;
The universe exploded and it rained chills down on me –
Every speck of moonlight danced across your golden skin;
Years have passed but I can see its doing it again.

CHORUS
The hourglass has broken,
Its sands have blown away;
Everything still left here,
Came from all our yesterdays…
Our future will be golden,
With a touch or two of gray –
And I promise that tomorrow's,
Bringing us more yesterdays.

[BRIDGE]
Those tiny little creases in your smile,
Remind me that we've been a few miles,
But that's just fine
Our hands have never let go...
We're a little older from way back then,
But we would do it all over again,
There ain't no doubt
Our hands will never let go...

CHORUS
The hourglass has broken,
Its sands have blown away;
Everything still left here,
Came from all our yesterdays…
Our future will be golden,
With a touch or two of gray –
And I promise that tomorrow's,
Bringing us more yesterdays.
