“Steal Midnight”

“Steal Midnight”
Copyright by Frank A. DeCenso, Jr.

[Vs1]
I’ll give up my whole world tonight,
If you give this dance to me;
The stars are telling us we’re right –
Like moonlight’s scenary;
You’ve been promised it all before,
But everything turned out wrong;
And every diamond ring you wore,
Fell off when they scratched your song…

CHORUS
If you wanna feel tonight,
Everything it’s made to be –
Grab my hand, we’ll steal midnight,
It’s there for you and me…
Hold my hand, we’ll steal midnight,
And we’ll ride each night for free.

[Vs2]
I won’t make phony lover’s lines,
All the ones you’ve heard are gone;
This kiss is here for you to find,
My lips play your favorite song…
Flames begin when sparks ignite,
All the kindle that it sees;
We'll burn like fire every night,
And you'll melt holding me…

CHORUS
If you wanna feel tonight,
Everything it’s made to be –
Grab my hand, we’ll steal midnight,
It’s there for you and me…
Hold my hand, we’ll steal midnight,
And we’ll ride each night for free.

[BRIDGE]
Every door I have is open,
If you’re waiting to explore;
You’re too young for night to end –
Let me show what midnight’s for…

CHORUS
If you wanna feel tonight,
Everything it’s made to be –
Grab my hand, we’ll steal midnight,
It’s there for you and me…
Hold my hand, we’ll steal midnight,
And we’ll ride each night for free.

{OUTRO}
I gave up my whole world tonight,
Now it’s you and me;
We’ll be gone by morning’s light,
With midnight’s guarantees…

"Unaccounted For"

“Unaccounted For”
Copyright by Frank DeCenso, Jr.

[Vs1]
The city took it all, and left them to fall,
Never to break on through;
Their dreams had turned to dust, so leaving was a must -
But they didn’t know how to.

[Vs2]
With pockets full of air, that were nearly bare,
They had no words to say;
They had nothing to lose, and so they had to choose,
To stay or just ride away.

PRE-CHORUS
They needed free, from that city -

CHORUS
A town that ripped hope from their core, till
Even their next breath wasn’t for sure,
A place where all one's dreams…
Were unaccounted for...
Unaccounted for.

[Vs3]
This was a new chance for a new circumstance,
So they made a bold choice;
They took their rusty car to where the sunsets are,
And all hopes still have a voice.

[Vs4]
So they drove through the night until the morning light,
Showed them a lonely place;
They stayed there for a while, until they both smiled;
And saw on each other’s face…

PRE-CHORUS
They needed free, from that city -

CHORUS
A town that ripped hope from their core, till
Even their next breath wasn’t for sure,
A place where broken dreams…
Were unaccounted for...
Unaccounted for.

BRIDGE
Now able to share at last,
All the hopes and dreams once past,
Were now alive again;
Built a home and fam’ly there,
Underneath the quiet air,
That echoed their love within…

CHORUS 2
They now could see how dreams could be -
A place that birthed hope in their lives,
Where they could stay and breathe and thrive -
Far away from where dreams…
Were unaccounted for...
Unaccounted for.

“Running Across The River” (Long Version)

“Running Across the River” (Long Version)
Copyright by Frank A. DeCenso, Jr.

You gave your last farewell to all the fear you bled;
And burned up all the rules silhouetted lovers said;
Now you’re on the move –
Nothing left to lose –
Your midnight dancers collected their dues;
Now every circus act romance is about to find its end.

CHORUS
You’re running across the river,
From shadow lover thieves;
They’ve cut your dreams right out of you,
Too fast for you to see…
You’re running across the river,
Under midnight’s white-hot sun;
New hope's on the shoreline,
And for it you’re on the run.

In a withered rose of wonder there’s still beauty found;
You haven’t felt the stars so long you thought they all fell down;
Now you see their glow –
All you need to know –
They fill the night like they'll never let go;
Then lead you 'cross the river where lost futures hold their ground.

CHORUS
You’re running across the river,
From shadow lover thieves;
They’ve cut all your dreams out of you,
Too fast for you to see…
You’re running across the river,
Under midnight’s white-hot sun;
New hope's on the shoreline,
And for it you’re on the run.

Your skimming 'cross the water and you’re halfway there;
The only thing that followed you is misty graveyard air;
Never look behind –
Nothing’s there to find –
You feel the doubts drowning in your mind;
And soon those pulse pretenders will be fallen dead-end signs.

CHORUS
You’re running across the river,
From shadow lover thieves;
They’ve cut all your dreams out of you,
Too fast for you to see…
You’re running across the river,
Under midnight’s white-hot sun;
New hope's on the shoreline,
And for it you’re on the run.
