"Dark Land"

"Dark Land" (Draft)
©️ by Frank A DeCenso, Jr.

[Vs1]
This ole world is filled up with painful misery,
People live in grotesque fear;
They can hide their teardrop stains just a little bit,
So no one sees, they're hurtin' here...

[VS2]
Look around your neighborhood, beyond the fence post signs -
Many need a friend who cares;
But we've been raised we should spend our free time,
Pixelated with TV's glare...

CHORUS
Your heart is big enough,
It's grown through what is rough -
Try and grab someone else's hand,
Pull them from Dark Land...

[Vs3]
Do we merely close our eyes, and wish they'll fade away,
Hoping that all of them will hide?
Search the world for those who lost, all they're hopes and dreams,
Life's game of cards, play till we die...

[VS4]
Think about it for a while, till it all sinks in,
Just maybe you are their last hope;
Toss them a sincere smile, not a passing glance,
Offer them a hand, and a saving rope...

CHORUS
Your heart is big enough,
It's grown through what is rough -
Try and grab someone else's hand,
Pull them from Dark Land...

BRIDGE
Some will come and some will go -
If you don't try you'll never know...

CHORUS
Your heart is big enough,
It's grown through what is rough -
Try and grab someone else's hand,
Pull them from Dark Land...
Try and grab someone else's hand,
Pull them from Dark Land...

“You Should Have Stayed”

“You Should Have Stayed”
Copyright by Frank DeCenso, Jr.

[Vs1]
I used to know a guy,
He looked just like you;
He had the same name,
And the same tattoo.

[Vs2]
He’s been gone a while,
He never even wrote;
Just packed up and left me,
With a scribbled up note...

CHORUS
It can’t be you,
Who I once knew,
You are too well behaved.
How can it be,
That the more I see,
I think it’s you –
You should have stayed.

[Vs3]
You left this girl alone,
To shed a million tears;
But I got over you,
It just took a few years.

[Vs4]
Now you want me back,
You say you’ve changed a lot,
I guess you may have, but
I haven't yet forgot...

CHORUS
I think it’s you,
Who I once knew,
And you seem well behaved.
I guess it’s true,
It’s really you,
And you tell me –
You should have stayed.

[BRIDGE]
I’ve moved on,
Since you’ve been gone,
I can’t go back there now…
Too much pain,
With little to gain,
I wouldn’t even know how.

CHORUS
I know it’s you,
Who I once I knew,
And you are well behaved.
I guess it’s true,
It’s really you,
But I’m sorry –
You should have stayed.

"All My Feelings Dance On You" (Long Version)

"All My Feelings Dance On You"
©️ by Frank A. DeCenso, Jr.

[Vs1]
When the ocean’s chill tumbles across your skin,
And your hair tiptoes upon me in the wind –
The Autumn sky explodes on me,
Your fancy kisses set me free ...
And there we make this moment… this moment start again.

CHORUS
I can run 'cross every river,
I can push back every tide;
I can rearrange the starlight,
So your name blends in with mine...
I'll jump through every rainbow,
A hurricane or two...
I can't stop -
'Cause all my feelings dance on you
All my feelings dance on you.

[Vs2]
When midnight drops it begs us to begin,
And the moon looks down upon us with a grin –
We crumble in each other’s eyes,
Embracing love in quiet sighs...
And there we find each moment… each moment's first again.

CHORUS
I can run 'cross every river,
I can push back every tide;
I can rearrange the starlight,
So your name blends in with mine...
I'll jump through every rainbow,
A hurricane or two...
I can't stop -
'Cause all my feelings dance on you ...
All my feelings dance on you.

[Vs3]
When the sun awakes it finds us unaware,
That night has left with us still holding there –
Our smiles burn the atmosphere,
With every breath I hold you near...
And each and every moment… each moment's new again.

CHORUS
I can run 'cross every river,
I can push back every tide;
I can rerrange the starlight,
So your name blends in with mine...
I'll jump through every rainbow,
A hurricane or two...
I can't stop -
'Cause all my feelings dance on you
All my feelings dance on you.

“Another Jukebox Song” (Long Version)

“Another Jukebox Song” (Long Version)
Copyright by Frank A DeCenso, Jr.

[Vs1]
I still recall us throwing stones at tired rusty cars –
Just lonely highway coffins at the back of Sam's junkyard –
Those autumn skies bore streaks of flame,
That blew a warming breeze;
It whispered through your hair each night,
As we'd sneak behind Oak trees.

[Vs2]
The sands have fallen swiftly but your eyes are still the same –
Our feelings were like voiceless ghosts and we both share the blame –
We could have had it all back then,
But then just slipped away;
Tonight is begging for a chance,
To bring a brand new day.

CHORUS
That old jukebox still plays songs,
When passion fills the air –
Let’s start a new tomorrow now,
And see what song is there…

[Vs3]
This night can hold us hostage and I wouldn’t care at all –
The touch of your lost beauty leaves me mysteries to solve –
My lips are melting in your smile,
As I fall into your eyes;
Fading in this atmosphere,
Are yesterday's goodbyes...

CHORUS
That old jukebox still plays songs,
When passion fills the air –
Let’s start a new tomorrow now,
And see what song is there…

[BRIDGE]
Those rusty cars still sit alone,
Surrounded by cold steel;
Without a ride they'll never know,
Just how some highways feel;
We hold the keys that we once lost,
And horizon’s sky is red;
Hold on tight – we’ll ride all night,
There’s more just up ahead…

CHORUS 2
That old jukebox plays our songs,
When passion fills the air –
Let’s start a new tomorrow now,
And see what song is there…
Let’s hold and dance – we can’t be wrong,
If we were right back then –
That old jukebox can bring us back,
To start it all again.
