“Still Breathing Here”

“Still Breathing Here”
Copyright by Frank DeCenso, Jr.

When you dream of wild horses,
Are they still running free?
When you think of all your choices,
Are you forgetting me?
In the pale white spotlight, of a rising midnight moon –
Do you feel what's left behind, left you lonely all too soon?

CHORUS
If your feelings ever need,
Some new atmosphere,
Stare into my eyes - they're still breathing here.
Stare into my eyes – you’re still breathing here.

In thoughts of what you left there,
Is there still room for two?
As the hours pass like lightning,
Are you all alone with you?
In the shattered memories, of your vacant hollow heart –
Our reflections are still there, but they're broken all apart...

CHORUS
If your feelings ever need,
Some new atmosphere,
Stare into my eyes - they're still breathing here.
Stare into my eyes – you’re still breathing here.

[Bridge]
You’ve put your soul into a timeless tomb,
And then sealed it with a kiss;
But in your heart’s dark, empty room,
Nothing's ever hurt like this -

CHORUS
If your feelings ever need,
Some new atmosphere,
Stare into my eyes - they're still breathing here.
Stare into my eyes – you’re still breathing here.
