"You Can Never Leave Me" (Draft)

“You Can Never Leave Me” (Draft)
Copyright by Frank A. DeCenso, Jr.

We were quite a pair back then –
Just dancin’ and swayin’ as music was playin’,
Inside each others’ head…
We held long after midnight,
Blended in the firelight -
I remember what we said…

CHORUS
You can never leave me
You can never go;
Everything about you,
Is everything I know;
You can never leave me,
You can never fade;
Everything about us,
Is still yet to be made.

Where’s it all gone since then?
The passion and feeling that we had been stealing,
Has left here like the wind…
We can track each memory,
That's hiding now unseen -
And remember that we said…

CHORUS
You can never leave me
You can never go;
Everything about you,
Is everything I know;
You can never leave me,
You can never fade;
Everything about us,
Is still yet to be made.

[BRIDGE]
Let’s gather what’s forgotten,
And forget that we once knew –
How hearts can scatter slowly,
If they don’t hold onto…
Those words known by so few…

CHORUS
You can never leave me
You can never go;
Everything about you,
Is everything I know;
You can never leave me,
You can never fade;
Everything about us,
Is still yet to be made.

"Walk On Down" (Christian Genre)

“Walk On Down”
Copyright by Frank A. DeCenso, Jr.

Can you ever know, where the rivers flow,
In each cascading stream?
They may stop along, and sing a song,
To His Royal Majesty…
Can you hear His call, it is meant for all,
Through nature’s reveille;
A holy sound, leads to holy ground,
Will you walk there with me?

CHORUS
Let’s walk on down,
To the King’s chamber –
‘Cause His arms are wide,
You can never hide,
With His love all around…
Let’s walk on down,
To the King’s chamber –
‘Cause His eyes can see,
All you’re meant to be –
If you’re lost you’ll be found.

The wind proclaims, His holy name,
Through the highest of trees;
The mountain sides, and ocean tides,
Were made for all to see…
Can you hear His call, it is meant for all,
Through nature’s reveille;
A holy sound, leads to holy ground,
Will you walk there with me?

CHORUS
Let’s walk on down,
To the King’s chamber –
‘Cause His arms are wide,
You can never hide,
With His love all around…
Let’s walk on down,
To the King’s chamber –
‘Cause His eyes can see,
All you’re meant to be –
If you’re lost you’ll be found.

When a falling star, finds where you are,
It’ll put on a show;
Leaving just a trace, of creative grace,
Hoping you’ll come to know…
Can you hear His call, it is meant for all,
Through nature’s reveille;
A holy sound, leads to holy ground,
Will you walk there with me?

CHORUS
Let’s walk on down,
To the King’s chamber –
‘Cause His arms are wide,
You can never hide,
With His love all around…
Let’s walk on down,
To the King’s chamber –
‘Cause His eyes can see,
All you’re meant to be –
If you’re lost you’ll be found.

"Yesterday's Moon"

“Yesterday’s Moon”
Copyright by Frank A. DeCenso, Jr.

I stepped into the twilight,
Underneath an amber moon -
When I saw her ‘neath a streetlight,
Hoped she wasn’t leaving soon…
Many years had passed between us,
But her eyes were still the same;
She smiled when she saw me,
Then her whisper called my name.

CHORUS 1
We were held there by
Moonlight’s kiss –
Was there something more to
All of this?
Little older, were we
More in tune…
To our yesterday’s moon?

So we hugged into one shadow,
And it revived memories;
All the nights we held each other,
As I hoped she wouldn’t leave…
She said, “I’m sorry that I left you,
I was young and still confused.”
Said each night she thinks about me -
"Is it too late now to choose?"

CHORUS 1
We were held there by
Moonlight’s kiss –
Was there something more to
All of this?
Little older, were we
More in tune…
To our yesterday’s moon?

[BRIDGE]
We talked for what seemed hours,
In the midnight’s misty air;
But the feelings time had scattered,
Slowly returned to us there…

CHORUS 2
We were held there by
Moonlight’s kiss –
Was there something more to
All of this?
We were older and now
More in tune…
To our yesterday’s moon…
We were older and now
More in tune…
To our yesterday’s moon…

"Never Trust A Love Song" (Long Version)

“Never Trust A Love Song” (Long Version)
Copyright 2013, 2015 by Frank A. DeCenso, Jr.

A love song kept on playing,
Deep through the summer night;
She held him close against her,
But that close didn’t seem right –
She gazed into his saddened eyes,
But they ran far away;
It was then she realized,
It wasn’t their song being played…

Pre-CHORUS
As it started playing slowly,
Her thoughts began to say…

CHORUS
Never trust a love song,
It’ll play if you’re right or wrong;
Never trust a love song;
It’ll play when the feelings gone -

She heard him quietly whisper,
It didn’t sound real clear;
The air was getting smokey,
But it couldn’t hold her tear –
He faded to the exit sign,
In a moment he was gone;
She stood their long and lonely,
Then the band began their song…

Pre-CHORUS
All she could do was wonder,
Does it have to be this way?

CHORUS
Never trust a love song,
It’ll play if you’re right or wrong;
Never trust a love song;
It’ll play when the feelings gone -

At night she dreams of old times,
But lives for what is now;
There is no need to hurry –
She’ll find love again somehow;
Begins to hold her head real high,
Each day she’s growing strong;
Next time the music starts to play,
She’ll know if it’s right or wrong…

CHORUS
Never trust a love song,
It’ll play if you’re right or wrong;
Never trust a love song;
It’ll play when the feelings gone.

"Forever Made"

“Forever Made” (Revised)
Copyright by Frank DeCenso, Jr
<All Rights Reserved>

[Vs1]
We don’t believe in rainbow gold,
Or merchant's magic dust;
We hold each other through it all,
With grips of lifelong trust –
There’s never been a formula,
To make dark disappear;
There’s only us, standing tall,
With one voice saying clear…

CHORUS
There will never be
A you without me –
We are true love displayed;
The sands of time
May scratch and grind, but
We are forever made

[Vs2]
Rain falls hard on these dark plains,
Some storm clouds never break;
Our love has built a shelter strong,
There's nothing we can’t take –
Each journey has it's ups and downs,
We travel day and night;
That doesn’t mean our hearts are wrong,
It means together’s right…

CHORUS
There will never be
A you without me –
We are true love displayed;
The sands of time
May scratch and grind, but
We are forever made

[BRIDGE]
We’ll hold each other if this world turns to dry ground,
Or when the universe is gone away;
We’re two magnets that won't' separate,
We’re forever diamond strong and forever be that way.

CHORUS
There will never be
A you without me –
We are true love displayed;
The sands of time
May scratch and grind, but
We are forever made
{Repeat and Fade}

"Storybooks"

“Storybooks”
Copyright by Frank A. DeCenso, Jr.

[Vs1]
He wandered to the bedroom, it felt a little bare;
Their picture sat there quiet, but it’s presence filled the air;
The emptiness engulfed him, in memories aflame;
She never even told him, if he was all to blame.

[Vs2]
She moved out after midnight, she thought she'd find new dreams;
But she couldn't sleep without him, and dreams aren’t what they seem;
In every darkened hour, that never found it's end;
She knew she still felt everything, she felt for him back then.

CHORUS 1
Some storybooks are littered,
With myths and alibis;
Some storybooks have reasons,
That two hearts still should try –

[Vs3]
Their memories kept calling her, as old forgotten friends;
Like sirens on the highway, they’ll catch you in the end;
She wondered if he thought of her, and if his heart still bled;
She decided return to him - to pages not yet read.

CHORUS 1
Some storybooks are littered,
With myths and alibis;
Some storybooks have reasons,
That two hearts still should try –

[BRIDGE]
She knew he was her only,
His heart would always burn;
And now they'd have forever,
For new pages to turn...

CHORUS 2
Some storybooks are littered,
With myths and alibis;
Some storybooks have reasons,
That two hearts still should try –

OUTRO
Their storybook had ended, before it had begun;
But now that was yet written in, this storybook had all of time...
Till it was fine'ly done.
