[Vs1)
A little way past a county road sign,
A shiny white Vette caught my Jeep from behind,
The girl behind the wheel
Would blow up a younger boy's mind;
[Vs2]
My eyes got big with my heart singin’ loud,
A slow Country tune with whiskey throughout,
Wasn’t hallucinatin' but I thought
This kinda thing shouldn’t be allowed.
CHORUS
Car roof down,
Hair blowin’ round,
Fog liftin’ free through Sycamore trees –
Mornin’ ride turned to a vision of a girl
From a magazine…
Rear view mirror queen.
[Vs3]
She pulled alongside, threw a paper and beeped,
It sailed through the window of my muddy ole’ Jeep,
Then like lightning she flew
Down the road just waving at me;
[Vs4]
I slammed on the brake, made a long skidded line,
Opened the note and my heart flat-lined,
It said, “You are cute with that dirty ole jeep...
Call me anytime.”
CHORUS
Car roof down,
Hair blowin’ round,
Fog liftin’ free through Sycamore trees –
Mornin’ ride turned to a vision of a girl
From a magazine…
Rear view mirror queen.
[BRIDGE]
I had her number when I got home,
She answered her phone, said she was all alone –
Had some wine – said it could be mine –
Gave me her address and I took that Jeep,
And I was gone till the next day’s light…
CHORUS
Car roof down,
Hair blowin’ round,
Fog liftin’ free through Sycamore trees –
Mornin’ ride turned to a vision of a girl
From a magazine…
Rear view mirror queen.
