With her keys she hit the Highway,

At first it was a thrill;

Leaving Texas nights behind her,

And some mem'ries she killed –

Everyone she ever wanted,

Faded like morning frost;

So she took her jeans and diamonds,

Left behind what she lost…

Both cut so beautifully;

More than a toy in a Cracker Jack box,

There was so much more to see –

With her Levi’s and her Diamonds…

She moved on - quietly.

She drove deeper into midnight,

Drove hard and she drove fast;

All those moonlit love deceivers,

We're scratches in her past –

Still remembering the sorrow,

The glare from fallen dreams;

She convinced herself her heartaches,

Weren't all that love could mean…

A communication breakdown –

If all this mess that’s now going down,

The midway lights gave a glow,

That landed on her there...

She looked like he remembered,

From years that time forgot;

He walked up and he hoped she knew,

Just what this chance had brought.
