“More Yesterdays”

Remember that old stone house where our names are etched in wood?
A lonely rusty pickup truck still sits there like we would –
At night its bed would hold us while we counted falling stars;
These two rings remind us what we had there is still ours’.

CHORUS
The hourglass has broken,
Its sands have blown away;
Everything still left here,
Came from all our yesterdays…
Our future will be golden,
With a touch or two of gray –
And I promise that tomorrow's,
Bringing us more yesterdays.

I can’t forget your eyes were like the sparkling summer sea;
The universe exploded and it rained chills down on me –
Every speck of moonlight danced across your golden skin;
Years have passed but I can see its doing it again.

CHORUS
The hourglass has broken,
Its sands have blown away;
Everything still left here,
Came from all our yesterdays…
Our future will be golden,
With a touch or two of gray –
And I promise that tomorrow's,
Bringing us more yesterdays.

[BRIDGE]
Those tiny little creases in your smile,
Remind me that we've been a few miles,
But that's just fine
Our hands have never let go...
We're a little older from way back then,
But we would do it all over again,
There ain't no doubt
Our hands will never let go...

CHORUS
The hourglass has broken,
Its sands have blown away;
Everything still left here,
Came from all our yesterdays…
Our future will be golden,
With a touch or two of gray –
And I promise that tomorrow's,
Bringing us more yesterdays.
